Hi guys – congrats on another GREAT show!!! I’m so sorry I missed it. Just listened to every word as I’m sitting here in a hotel that doesn’t have any Tour coverage. So, thanks for my cycling fix for the day.

Because I can’t ever not give my two cents….
Tim – congrats on no hardware. Wooo-hoo! Can’t wait to hear about the first ride.
Carlton – “lovely sculpted legs”..that’s just not right…I’ll admit..jealous! Seriously jealous.
David – Beltran’s intelligence? IF he did it, I’m sorry, he’s not too bright. I’m with Tim, I so wanted it to be a Tour that didn’t have any scandal. Oh well.
BUT, I also think that the media speculation about Ricco borders on criminal. Carlton is absolutely right to use the words “witch hunt” in the context of the media and scrutiny that is happening even when there isn’t anything concrete to report. That damages careers and lives and is just wrong.
Sprinters….guys, you talked about sprinters with only a brief, passing mention of The God of Thunder. Let’s give the man his props, please. And, yes Carlton, part of those props are some of the best, “sculpted legs” out there. 😉
Thank you for hating that Saab commercial! And the backwards commercial. I’ve not only Twittered about that commercial, but I also complained to Bob Roll about it so he could tell the powers that be at Versus (for whatever good that will do). I find it inappropriate.
Tim – a new Masi website? Great – what’s the timeline on that?
Carlton and Tim G – you know I think the book is fantastic, but congrats again!!!
Hey Max…looking forward to having you on the show as the newest Spokesman.
And…thanks to both Carlton and David for the nice mention about the new job. It’s the reason I couldn’t make this episode, but I won’t be gone forever (much to the shagrin of some of you, I’m sure). It’s a big job, but all good. And, I’m still writing for the Kryptonite blog and keeping up with cycling as much as I can.

Ok, I’m done now…I think…..Yup, done. Back to Twitter and Plurk.

    Congrats on the show, guys!

    Hi All,

Thanks for putting together yet another interesting podcast, your doing a great job, keep up the good work. However, I have a couple of points I’d like to pick up on….

    1) With regard to Carlton’s comments on riders remaining anonymous (the media not leaking riders names as soon as the A-sample result is known) until the B-sample result is known, I do understand the need for fairness. However, I would be interested to know how many riders have been proven innocent after a positive A-sample result for EPO. I would guess, and I’m only guessing here, none! If anyone knows differently to this I would be interested to know. Considering the number of drugs cheats in cycling at the moment who can blame the media and the people who leak the information for publicising prior the the B-sample result.

    2) On a different note, Sean Kelly is a legend and although he does come across in a mono note style (during his Eurosport commentary, actually probably all the time, ;-)) he is super knowledgeable and his English is good. Maybe Carlton doesn’t understand the Irish accent, who’s problem is that?

Sorry to have a pop at Carlton but I just can’t agree with him on the above points.

    All the best,

    Jason in London UK

Sorry, but I have to disagree on the Craig Hummer (Versus commentator) opinions. I think he has done an admirable job, and is a big improvement over Al Trautwig. Al seemed to treat the whole race as a joke. I get the feeling that Hummer is a bit more in tune with the race strategies and appreciates the nuances of bicycle road racing. Keep it up Craig!!

And thanks David, Carlton, and Tim for another great podcast!

Jason – athletes HAVE been cleared from their B sample. I can’t think of any cyclists right now, but Marion Jones had her A sample test positive in 2006, but then her B sample (done in the exact same lab) was negative, and she was cleared.
