I heard what you were saying about the incident where a cyclist was killed and police assumed it was their fault. Appreciated the recognition of the Providence Cyclocross Festival – great example of how cross can be responsible users of public space during the off season.
So I don’t usually comment on sites but this recent cast well you hit a nerve! Not any thing you guys said just pointing out how car drivers don’t really know or care to realize how easily they can kill someone!
I feel that before anyone can get a drivers license they should have to first have 2 years of commuting and getting around on bicycle. This would make most sane people, realize how their driving effects others, they would actually get healthier, and maybe continue to use a bicycle some. It would cause states to build better cycling infrastructure. Also causing Cities and States to have better mass transit systems. I to am sick of how drivers think they own the roads, and don’t seem to know the basic laws for bicycle riders use of the same roads. I also am not supper happy with how some cities now are putting in bike lanes that seem to put cyclist in worse place than being in traffic. Anyways nice show keep up the good fight!
I understand its usage now, but I initially thought “Buzzed in the bike lane” was referring to being slightly tipsy and riding your bike. After listening, I’m glad that’s not the reference. Phew.

While this is costly, having a helmet cam is a great way to discourage motorists from behaving badly. Unless they’re distracted by something else, they WILL see the camera on top of your head, and they WILL give you a wider berth. Now, it’s not a magic protective shield that will stop a 5000-lb pickup truck, but it will be irrefutable evidence in the event you get harassed or hit. I was hit by a drunk driver (.16 BAC) 1.5 years ago, and because I had it all on video the driver got absolutely slammed with penalties including 30 days in jail and three years of probation (first offense).
