Regarding the TTT being on stage 2, instead of a later stage where it could affect the race more…. I’m not certain, but I’m guessing it is scheduled early on to assure all teams have all, or most, of their riders. Later stages could see teams with injured or otherwise withdrawn riders leaving them with a skeleton crew to do the TTT. That would be a huge disadvantage. Those are my thoughts. I don’t know what the official reason is, but it seems every year when they have a TTT it’s on one of the first few stages when teams have all their riders.

Anyway, I changed my mind that night after watching the highlights. I remembered I LOVE the spectacle of the team formations.
And there were some good times for some GC riders, and worse for others so it was, in fact, highly consequential. I therefore withdraw all of my spoken comments about the TTT!
